《심즈 3》는 맥시스에서 개발하여 일렉트로닉 아츠에서 배급한 생활 시뮬레이션 게임이며 《심즈 2》의 후속작이다. 2009년 2월 20일에 발매될 예정이었으나 연기되어 2009년 6월 2일에 맥 OS X 버전과 윈도 버전으로 발매되었으며, 이어서 플레이스테이션 3, 엑스박스 360, 닌텐도 DS 버전이 2010년 10월 26일에, Wii 버전이 2010년 11월 15일에 발매되었다. 그리고 2014년 9월 2일에 《심즈 3》의 후속인 《심즈 4》가 발매되었다.
